Pixomondo

Pixomondo is one of the world’s leading providers of visual effects and virtual production. Founded in Frankfurt in 2001, the company is now headquartered in Los Angeles and has offices across the world from China to Canada. Famous for the fire-breathing dragons in Game of Thrones, the space scenes of Star Trek and the high-octane car chases in The Fast and the Furious, Pixomondo has won 17 major awards, including an Academy Award®, Emmy Awards and Visual Effects Society Awards.

Mayfair invested in Pixomondo in July 2018 to benefit from the structural tailwinds in the large and rapidly expanding visual effects market. This has been driven by the expansion in content creation, especially from platforms such as Netflix, Amazon and Apple.

The investment in Pixomondo included additional funding to support Pixomondo’s push into virtual production, where the business already has considerable capability. Mayfair exited Pixomondo to Sony Pictures Entertainment in October 2022.
